The Atlético Paranaense player wants action to be taken against the Uruguayan for insulting him.
Brazil drew 0-0 in their opening game of the final stages of U20 Sudamericano against Uruguay last-night and Marcos Guilherme was talking to SporTV after the match. He told: “Five times the guy called me a monkey. I have faced many such situations in Brazil. This cannot happen. Someone has to take action, but it never stops. Let"s complaint to see if someone takes action. He spoke loud and clear, the number 7. If the [TV] camera showed, it will help a lot. There are several incidents like Aranha [Santos], Tinga [Cruzeiro], Arouca [Santos] but nobody takes action to end this. We are representing our country, our families are watching it and cheering us but we suffer racism in our work. Someone take action."
Brazil coach Alexandre Gallo also commented on the incident. He told: “We talked to the player and calmed him. Marcos Guilherme was upset and disturbed. The other players also, because they saw everything on the pitch. CONMEBOL need to take this issue forward because football and sport can not go through it."
