He had admitted the interest from AS Roma and revealed his affection for Shakhtar.
Various reports have emerged in the last few days that Shakhtar striker Luiz Adriano is close to joining AS Roma in Italy but the player won’t leave unless the proposal satisfies his club. He gave an interview to Calcio Mercato and was quoted: “I am very glad that I’m wanted by many strong clubs but it’s entirely due to Shakhtar who gave me the opportunity to express in the international stage. I’ve spent eight years in Ukraine and there’s one more year on the contract. I’m going to see it out but if I leave, then it will only be in the event of an offer that’s acceptable for not only me, but also my club. I’m very grateful to Shakhtar for everything they’ve done for me. Roma are a great team and I’m flattered by their interest.”
