Uruguayan left-back Álvaro Pereira won’t stay at São Paulo for the 2015 season.
São Paulo admitted losing a great player in Álvaro Pereira and allowed to release him due to personal reasons. He’s still owned by Inter Milan and his new club will be Estudiantes in Argentina. São Paulo’a executive director Gustavo Vieira de Oliveira was quoted in ESPN Brasil: “Unfortunately we lost a great player who was in our plans for 2015. He called me and explained the personal reasons for requesting to leave.”
The player himself said goodbye to São Paulo and didn’t refuse to rule out a return. He said: “I would like to thank the São Paulo family because I had a wonderful year here. Today I can say that I’m a São Paulo fan. And who knows, I can wear this shirt again in the future.”
