Veteran Brazilian centre-back Betão has re-signed with Dynamo Kyiv until June, after arriving on a free transfer.

The 31 year-old, who can also play as a full-back on the right and left, has been without a club since leaving Ponte Preta in January 2014.

Betão made just 10 appearances for the Campinas based outfit and has returned to Dynamo Kyiv to aid their push to secure the Ukrainian Premier League title.

Serhiy Rebrov’s side are currently top of the standings – five points clear of Shakhtar Donetsk – and remain unbeaten after 14 rounds.

Betão will provide competition for first choice central defenders Aleksandar Dragović, Yevhen Khacheridi and Domagoj Vida, as well as cover at full-back.

The São Paulo native also has the experience of winning the 2008-09 Ukrainian Premier League and 2009-10 Ukrainian Super Cup during his first spell with Dynamo and made 167 appearances for them after being signed from Santos for a reported fee of €1.6 million in July 2008.

Betão, who also won honours with Corinthians earlier in his career, left Dynamo in January 2013 to join Evian, before moving on to Ponte Preta on a free transfer in August of the same year.
