São Paulo attacking-midfielder Gabriel Boschilia was the last name to be cut from Brazil’s squad by manager Alexandre Gallo.

Atlético Mineiro’s Carlos and FC Porto’s ex-Internacional playmaker Otávio was already removed by the coach due to injury. Boschilia is the only player to be left out from the squad for technical reasons with midfielders Matheus Biteco and Danilo being released at the request of their respective clubs, Grêmio and Braga. Boschilia was one of the revelations of the U17 team that took part in the World Cup in UAE, along with Nathan who kept his place. Boschilia was also a regular name in Brazil’s youth squad in 2014 but the decision of Gallo to leave him out has caught the São Paulo supporters in surprise as he was expected to be a key part of the team.
