Arouca seems to be fed up about Santos’ financial situation and decided to go to court against his club.
He’s seen as an idol at Santos and had earlier released a statement that he wouldn’t go against the club in court and doesn’t prefer to leave Santos in dispute. According to Globo Esporte, although Santos managed to pay-off two month’s salary on Friday, Arouca filed a lawsuit against the club, trying to transfer to another team. Palmeiras are interested in having the midfielder and coach Oswaldo sees him as the ideal option for his team alongside Zé Roberto and Valdivia.
Unaware about the lawsuit, Santos president denied getting a proposal for Arouca.
