It is believed Inter Milan are finally set to approach Liverpool over the possibility of signing Lucas Leiva.
There have been various reports over the last year linking Lucas with Inter Milan and manager Roberto Mancini confirmed his appreciation of the player last week.
“Lucas is a great player but he is a Liverpool player and it will be hard to get him,” said Mancini. “It certainly would be useful to us as he could help our youngsters grow.”
According to Sky Sports Italia the player’s transfer to Italy is imminent and will be confirmed in the next few days.
Lucas joined Liverpool in 2007 and has made well over 200 appearances for the club. But this year his playing time has been limited. It remains to be seen how much Inter Milan will have to pay as Lucas still has a contract at Liverpool until 2017.
