Leandro Damião is set to leave Santos and move to Cruzeiro on a season long loan according to Vinicius Prates.
“What is set is that Leandro will be at Cruzeiro next year,” said Prates, “It is a year long loan. I can not talk about values because the clubs asked me not to talk, but all this is true.”
The two clubs have not yet released an official statement but they are expected to do so in the coming days. In exchange for Damião, Cruzeiro will continue to loan Souza to Santos after the midfielder spent the 2014 season at the club. Cruzeiro will also pay for 70% of Damião’s wages.
Damião moved to Santos this time last year but he has struggled to live up to his €12.5 million price tag.
