Souza has made it clear that he wants to move to São Paulo permanently after saying they have given him his best year in football.

The 25 year old was on loan at São Paulo from Grêmio last season and he thinks it was one of the best decisions of his life.

“It was the best year of my career. I became more mature. I came to São Paulo with uncertainty. All that has happened in my life is better here, both personal and professional.”

Souza explains how things started getting better after the arrival of his son, Nicolas, in June. Now he couldn’t be happier.

“Everything revolves around São Paulo. It was the chance I had to gain selection (to the Brazilian squad). The visibility here is another thing. It is another level, I can say that I climbed my porch. It all happened thanks to São Paulo.”
