Cruzeiro president Alexandre Mattos has revealed that the club are attempting to sign Paulinho.
Paulinho has been out of favour recently at Tottenham and Cruzeiro are attempting a loan deal.
“Paulinho is a situation that can happen but only on loan,” said Mattos, “We have asked several times and Tottenham are still unclear on whether they will lend. If Paulinho has the possibility of leaving I’m sure he would want to come here.”
The club are also interested in Leandro Damião from Santos. The striker is much sought after but Mattos is confident he will get his man.
“Two hours ago, the manager called me and showed optimism. The conversation I had encouraged me and I feel the deal is a real possibility.”
