Juventus could be set to enter the battle to sign Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto, according to reports.

Website CalcioMercato claims that the Old Lady want to bring in the Brazil international as an understudy, then eventual heir, to first choice stopper Gianluigi Buffon.

Neto’s current deal with Fiorentina expires in June 2015 and with the 25 year-old yet to agree renewed terms, a number of clubs are believed to be looking into the possibility of signing him.

Roma, as well as Liverpool, were widely considered to be favourites to secure Neto, should he leave, but with the former deciding to extend Morgan De Sanctis’s contract, Juventus have reportedly moved to the head of the queue.

Whether Neto would want to move to one of Fiorentina’s most fierce rivals is however, currently unclear, while with Buffon still considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world, he could be waiting a number of years to get his chance at being Juventus’s number one.
