Dunga has told the press that he made Neymar the captain of Brazil because he can “handle the pressue.”
The new coach of Brazil controversially took the armband from Thiago Silva and gave it to Neymar. He explained why in an interview with Sport TV.
“For all the problems that Brazil had in 2014 with leadership I took focus off of others and put in Neymar because he knows how to deal well with pressure. He is not intimidated, does not change, he has added more, felt more responsible.”
Dunga does not seem to feel any sentiment when it comes to making decisions, especially when asked about Thiago Silva.
“When I arrived in the national team, I spoke with the President about working from scratch with my choices. I arrived, and Thiago was hurt, he was not playing and I chose Neymar. In each company, when there comes a director, he shall exercise the functions and will not explain why he has made changes. If you have to explain, I would respect all the players that were not called, to explain.”
