São Paulo have admitted they are interested in Doria as one of two new recruits from abroad.
Doria currently plays for Marseille in France after moving there in the summer from Botafogo.
“The players that we were interested in from the Brazilian market we’ve already brought in. We can announce that we are aiming for two new signings in January,” said club president Ataide Gil Guerrero.
Despite admitting their interest in Doria, Guerrero thinks it will be tough to sign the player,
“He is a target but we can’t afford him at the moment. Olympique do not seem keen to release him.”
São Paulo have so far signed Thiago Mendes, Bruno and Carlinhos. They also have a deal in place to sign Wesley in February.
