Chelsea left back Filipe Luís scored his first goal for the club last night as they defeated Derby County 3-1 in the Carling Cup.

The London club were leading 1-0 when Luís stepped up and curled a beautiful free kick into the top corner from 25 yards out. The victory means that Chelsea progressed to the semi final of the competition and could still win four trophies this year.

Luís has found first team opportunities at Chelsea limited since signing for the club in the summer but is slowly finding his feet. This was the Brazilians third consecutive start and he will be hoping he can keep this run going against Stoke on Monday.
