Manager Jose Mourinho admitted that his team were lucky on Saturday but he wasn’t referring to the incidents where his players appeared to dive.

Instead he was referring to his Brazilian defender Filipe Luis who he said was very fortunate not to escape serious injury. The 29 year old left back was on the end of a heavy challenge by Tom Huddlestone which resulted in the Hull City player being sent off.

“Filipe Luis did not break his leg. He was not transported to the hospital to have his leg or knee operated on and this is good news. We were very, very lucky,” said the Portuguese coach.

The comments will anger Hull City fans even further. They believe the real talking point was when Gary Cahill escaped a second yellow card despite diving.
