Goa manager Zico has described reaching the Indian Super League [ISL] semi-finals as “one of the greatest moments of my career."
The 61 year-old, who was capped 71 times by Brazil as a player, lead the Reddes to the play-offs with a game to spare.
Goa will now face Atlético de Kolkata over two legs to secure a place in the final, where they can meet either Chennaiyin or Kerala Blasters.
"Of course, it is one of the greatest moments of my career," said Zico, as reported by website Indian Super League. "From being at the bottom of the table to reaching the semi-finals with a match to spare is not easy."
For the first half of the league stage, Goa had struggled for results and seemed unlikely to reach the play-offs, before an upturn in form.
After failing to win any of their first four outings, they responded to end the campaign with an eight match unbeaten run that culminated in a 1-1 draw against their semi-final opposition Atlético de Kolkata.
Should Zico succeed in leading Goa to the ISL title, it will be his first major honour as a manager since winning the 2008-09 Russian Cup and 2009 Russian Super Cup with CSKA Moscow.
The tactician, who was last with Al-Gharafa SC, has also lifted five other trophies whilst with Bunyodkor [2008 Uzbek Cup and Uzbek League], Fenerbahçe [2006-07 Spor Toto Süper Lig and 2007 TFF Süper Kupa] and the Japan national team [2004 Asian Cup].
