Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto is keen for a wage increase as part of a new contract, according to reports.
La Nazione, as cited by Football Italia, claims that the Brazil international wants around €500,000 more than the €1.5 million per season across four years that Fiorentina are believed to have offered him.
Neto’s current deal expires in June 2015 and with Liverpool reportedly ready to hand him the €1.9 per season he desires, La Viola may be forced to match his demands.
Neto was signed from Atlético Paranaense in January 2011 for €3.5 million and has been first choice since Vincenzo Montella’s appointment as Head Coach at the start of the 2012/13 season.
This term, the 25 year-old has started all 14 Serie A matches and kept seven clean sheets.
If Neto does depart, then Romania international Ciprian Tătărușanu, who was brought in from Steaua București on a free transfer in June, could be promoted, while veteran Cristiano Lupatelli is also under contract.
