Palmeiras fans will be in dreamland after Jorge Valdivia confirmed he wants to stay at the club.

Following their escape from relegation Valdivia told a news conference that it is now time to start talks over a new contract as his current deal runs out next year.
“My decision has been made. Now let’s talk. The most important thing of all is the happiness of both the club and the player.”

Valdivia also revealed that he had been approached by Chilean club Colo Colo but he has unfinished business in Brazil.
“Colo Colo to me, is my team in Chile. It was the institution that formed me as a player. But I still have a lot of firewood in Brazil. I will always feel indebted to this club (Palmeiras). It is the club that opened the doors for me when I arrived, and which so far believed in me.”
