Guangzhou Evergrande are ready to move for want-away Fluminense forward Fred, according to reports.

Brazilian newspaper UOL claims that the 31 year-old is eager to move on following the conclusion of the 2014 Brasileirão, after growing frustrated at being owed almost two years worth of money for image rights.

Evergrande Technical Director Marcello Lippi is currently in South American at the moment looking for new signings and is believed to be keen on pursuing Fred, who has netted 17 goals this season.

According to UOL’s report, the Chinese Super League holders are willing to match the veteran’s wage demands, but Fluminense’s desire to receive around €6 million for him could be a potential stumbling block.

If Fred does make the move to Evergrande, he will join fellow Brazilians Renê Júnior and Elkeson, while new manager Fabio Cannavaro also has Italy internationals Alessandro Diamanti and Alberto Gilardino in his squad.
