Benfica forward Anderson Talisca has claimed that he is taking confidence from his call-up to the Brazil squad – despite not featuring in the matches against Turkey and Austria.

The in-form Talisca was selected to be part of the Selecao squad by coach Dungs after Lucas Moura was forced to withdraw through injury.

The reported Manchester United target did not make it onto the pitch in either victory over the European nations, but Talisca said that he will be a better player for the experience of training with the national side.

‘Although I was not part of the game, it was a good experience for me,’ he told O Jogo.

‘This experience was very good for me and I learned many things. Now I must continue on for my club and return stronger to Benfica.

‘I feel more confident for the rest of the season.’
