Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has moved to distance himself from reports over the weekend that he was furious about losing the Brazil captaincy to Neymar.

The PSG star was quoted as saying on Sunday that he was far from happy about not being consulted by either Neymar or coach Dunga about being stripped of the skipper’s armband.

However, Silva has since claimed that there are no problems between him and the Barcelona superstar and stated that he sees the 22-year-old Selecao skipper as his ‘little brother’.

He told reporters: ‘The most important thing is that my conscience is clear. Neymar and Dunga too.

‘I had to clear some things up. Neymar understood what I was trying to do. Neymar is like a brother and that won’t change. Whenever we speak, we end the conversation by saying “I love you.”‘
