Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has conceded that Ronaldinho was "virtually unstoppable at his best."
The two players came up against each other between 2005 and 2008, when Ronaldinho was at Barcelona.
During his time in Catalunya [2003-2008], the attacking midfielder was part of a side that won five major honours, while he was also awarded numerous individual accolades, including being named the 2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year and voted for the 2005 Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldinho also earned a standing ovation after scoring twice as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-0 in a 2005 El Clásico at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Having played against Ronaldinho in that contest and faced him during his most prominent years, Ramos was quick to name the Brazil international amongst his toughest opponents.
"There’ve been many. Ronaldinho was virtually unstoppable at his best, as a forward or a playmaker," he said, as reported by AS and cited on Football Espana.
"Samuel Eto’o, on his day, or Zlatan Ibrahimović, a striker who was a lot of trouble with his size, holds the ball up well, plays great with his back to goal and was fast."
