Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro has revealed that he grew up trying to emulate Brazil legend Ronaldo.

The former Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona striker is widely regarded as one of the finest strikers of all time, and before converting to a defensive midfielder, Sandro said Ronaldo was an inspiration to him growing up.

Speaking after the 38-year-old was inducted into the Goal.com Hall of Fame, the QPR man said: ‘I think for the younger guys like me, it was important to see a player like Ronaldo.

‘I always looked at Ronaldo and tried to do what he did. We all loved Ronaldo [in Brazil]."
