Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has played down losing the Brazil captaincy to teammate Neymar.

The PSG centre-back led the Selecao during the World Cup, but new coach Dunga gave the armband to the Barcelona superstar upon his arrival after the Brazil tournament.

However, Silva insisted that he was at ease with losing skippering duties to the 22-year-old Neymar.

‘I am calm about [losing the captaincy]," he told reporters. ‘Neymar is a great friend and my friendship with him will not change because of the situation.

‘The decision was made and I"ll talk to the staff. I would rather talk to the team"s staff because I was out the team for a long time [through injury] and I do not know what is going on."

Brazil play Turkey on Wednesday before a trip to Austria next week.
