FC Goa manager Zico is hopeful that defender André Santos will be fit for Thursday’s crucial clash against Delhi Dynamos.

The Reddes are currently bottom of the Indian Super League [ISL] after seven rounds and with their play-offs hopes beginning to slip away, Zico is eager to ensure Santos can be in his line up at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

"I really hope that he will be fit to play the next match," he told the ISL’s official website.

"We will have to see how he does in training tomorrow. He trained yesterday but felt a niggle, hence I couldn’t risk him."

As well as sweating over the fitness of Santos, Zico has also admitted that he would have like to bring more Brazilian players to the ISL.

"If I had the opportunity to select more players (from Brazil), I definitely would have," he stated. "I had only one option and I chose Santos."
