Fernandinho and Yaya Toure were sent off for Manchester City as they were beaten 2-1 at home to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday evening.

The defeat sees Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s hopes of qualification to the last 16 hanging by a thread with two games left to play.

City need to beat Bayern Munich and Roma in their final two games and hope results elsewhere go their way if they are to move into the knockout stages.

Seydou Doumbia netted for the Russians after just two minutes before Toure struck a free kick to equalise.

Howver, Doumbia gave the visitors the lead once more before Fernandinho was shown two yellow cards in less than 10 minutes.

Toure then received his marching orders for a shove on Roman Eremenko as City finished the game with nine men.
