Juventus are ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign Cruzeiro midfielder Everton Ribeiro, according to reports.

The Daily Star, citing sources in the Italian media, claims that the Bianconeri are ready to move for Ribeiro in January and suggests they are his most likely destination, should he make the switch to Europe.

Juventus were reported earlier this week to have set up a meeting with Ribeiro’s agent, as they look to gauge whether it would be possible to sign him in the next transfer window.

The 25 year-old has been an instrumental part of the Cruzeiro side that has dominated the Brasileirão over the past two seasons and, as such, would command a significant transfer fee. But having spent wisely over the summer, it is believed Juventus still have money available for January.

If Ribeiro does make the switch to Italy, then it will be seen as a big blow for Liverpool and Manchester United, who the Daily Star suggests have been following him closely over recent months and were weighing whether to make a bid themselves.
