Following reports that he is close to signing for Ligue 2 outfit Le Havre, Sambafoot caught up with Adriano for an exclusive chat.

How do you feel physically today?

“I feel good physically today, even though I still continue to work. If I am to sign with Le Havre in December I would continue this preparation and be ready as soon as possible. The most important for me is to play again and return to a good level of play. I really hope it will be as soon as possible.”

Is there a significant difference between the Brasileirão and Serie A, where you have played most?

“These are two completely different leagues. I can say that the French and Italian championships are roughly the same level. In Europe, teams are much better prepared physically, but also better organised.

The Brasileirão is a championship where it is easier to play and create scoring opportunities, it is also a more technical league. In Europe, the game is much faster, more tactical and also focused on the team.”

What do you think of Brazil under Dunga?

“It is difficult to compare the Seleção that went to the World Cup and today because there have been many changes. The Seleção is undergoing a revival with players who were invited for the first time. It will take some time for everything to be properly adjusted so I will be patient, but I am sure that Brazil will manage to find his best form.“

Can the Seleção win the Copa América?

“This selection has every chance to win the Copa América, which is a competition very different from the Confederations Cup and the World Cup. Against the South American teams, Brazil can win this race.”

Your thoughts on Neymar?

“He is a great player. We see it growing every day. I really wish him the best. He is one of the best players in the world and realize I’m sure he will win the Ballon d’Or very soon.”

Who will win the Brasileirão

“It’s hard to say because it’s pretty tight for top spot. Cruzeiro deserves to win the championship after a strong season, even if they have struggled in the last  few games.

Cruzeiro deserve it, but football is a thankless sport and the winner is not always the one who deserves to win.

São Paulo is a club that I really enjoy and respect and I had a great time with them, but I think Cruzeiro will win.”
