Real Madrid appear set to book their place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey after a 4-1 win over Cornella in the first leg – with Marcelo getting on the scoresheet.

The European champions took the lead in the 10th minute through Raphael Varane’s header but Carlo Ancelotti’s side were stunned when Oscar Munoz equalised.

However, Varane restored the lead with another header just after the half-hour mark before on-loan Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez scored the third.

Brazil international Marcelo rounded off the game with an effort 15 minutes from the end.
