Luiz Adriano has thanked his team-mates after netting five times in Shakhtar Donetsk’s 7-0 win over BATE Borisov.

The 27 year-old Brazilian, who has now scored four goals in a Champions League match quicker than any other player, was also delighted to be acknowledged as the man of the match, but insists it was a team effort that lead to such an emphatic victory.

I’m happy to have scored five goals and to know that I was man of the match,” he told UEFA. “I want to thank my team-mates because they helped me to score those goals and to play so well tonight.”

Shakhtar’s win in Belarus leaves them 2nd in Group H on five points. Leaders Porto have seven.
