Fernandinho believes having the Arena Khimki empty for Manchester City’s Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow will hinder the spectacle.

CSKA have been forced by UEFA to play their group matches behind closed doors due to alleged racism and Fernandinho concedes both sides could struggle in an unfamiliar atmosphere.

“I don’t think it will be an advantage for us,” he said, as reported by the PFA.

“It is always good when you play away because the fans support their team and it gives you more motivation to play well.

“I don’t think this is good for either team or for football.”
