Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago has admitted he is “profoundly disappointed and upset” after his latest injury setback.
The 23 year-old, whose father is former Brazil international Mazinho, has torn a knee ligament for the second time this year and is set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
“What can I say?” he said to Bayern’s official website. “Of course, I am at the moment profoundly disappointed and upset. Why always me?
But I will not give up. I will fight again. I’m going to get close again. And I will celebrate my comeback at Bayern.”
Thiago was signed from Barcelona for a reported fee of €25 million in July 2013 and has gone on to make just 25 appearances for Bayern since.
