Mainz 05-owned forward Shinji Okazaki has insisted Japan must be clinical if they are to get a result from their friendly with Brazil.

The Samurai Blue meet the Seleção at Singapore’s National Stadium on Tuesday and while Okazaki is aware that Japan are the underdogs, he’s confident they can surprise their more illustrious opponents, if they take their chances.

“It’s vital not to miss our opportunities and to use our limited chances effectively, when we are pressed by Brazil,” he told the Japan Football Association website.

“We became more confident after the victory against Jamaica, as that was what we were aiming at.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how we can play against Brazil, one of the strongest teams in the world. If we win, we can go as far as we want.”
