Atlético Mineiro Diego Tardelli has admitted its “a unique feeling" to score for Brazil.

The 29 year-old netted a brace – his first goals for his country – in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Argentina.

Tardelli had previously made seven appearances for the Seleção without scoring, but after finally finding the back of the net, he"s delighted to get off the mark.

“It"s a unique feeling," he told Globo Esporte. "It was a huge joy to be able to score the first goal, especially against Argentina, in a great Superclásico [de las Américas] and then to have the opportunity to score the second.

"I feel great happiness. Now I have to keep doing what I’ve been doing for the national team to make sure I stay here for good. My goal is to compete for Brazil in a World Cup, and I have started on that journey on the right foot."
