Internazionale midfielder Hernanes is confident he can work his way back into the Brazil national team.

The 29 year-old – capped 27 times – has not represented his country since coming on as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands in the 3rd place match at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

With new Head Coach Dunga looking to revitalise the squad ahead of the 2015 Copa América, Hernanes has found himself marginalised.

Despite currently not being in the frame for selection, the former Lazio play-maker remains optimistic of eventually earning a recall.

“The Seleção is still in my plans,” he told Lancenet. “I am a young player and the best period of my career is still to come. My objective is to be called up again.”

Hernanes has made ten appearances for Internazionale this season, scoring once.
