Spartak Moscow midfielder Rômulo has been added to the Brazil squad for the friendlies with Argentina and Japan later this month.
The 24 year-old last played for the Seleção in an 8-0 win over China PR in September 2012, but gets his chance following an injury to Fernandinho.
The Manchester City midfielder suffered a concussion during Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Aston Villa and will not be risked by Head Coach Dunga.
Rômulo is the fifth player brought into the Brazil squad since Dunga’s initial selection. The Picos native joins Marcelo Grohe, Juan Jesus, Kaká and Souza in being called up to replace the likes of Marquinhos, Ricardo Goulart and Ramires, who have dropped due to injuries.
