England

Chelsea defeated Aston Villa 3-0 at Stamford Bridge with three Brazilian-born players amongst the scorers. Former Internacional midfielder Oscar got the first on seven minutes, before Diego Costa and Willian rounded off the result in the second half.

In Saturday’s early kick-off between Everton and Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho was given 30 minutes as a substitute, while elsewhere Rafael assisted Wayne Rooney’s opener in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over West Ham United, Fernandinho played 66 minutes for Manchester City and Sandro lasted just eleven minutes of Queens Park Rangers’ 2-1 loss at Southampton, before going off injured.

Germany

In the Bundesliga, forward Raffael netted after 20 minutes to help Borussia Mönchengladbach to a 2-1 win over SC Paderborn. Chelsea loanee Lucas Piazón also scored as Eintracht Frankfurt beat SV Hamburger by the same scoreline. Defender Cleber also featured in that match.

Elsewhere, Rafinha, Dante, Naldo and Luiz Gustavo helped their respective teams – Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg – secure victory.

Spain

In La Liga, Neymar scored a hat-trick as Barcelona beat Granada 6-0 at Camp Nou. Adriano and Daniel Alves also featured.

At Ciutat de València, Léo Baptistão netted a brace to give Rayo Vallecano a 2-0 win over Levante. The Atlético de Madrid-owned player has now scored four goals in his last two appearances.

Elsewhere, centre-back Sidnei played 90 minutes as Deportivo lost 2-1 at Celta de Vigo, Marcelo started for Real Madrid and Diego Alves was in goal as Valencia drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad.

Italy

In Serie A, Maicon played 90 minutes as Roma beat Hellas Verona 2-0. Midfielder Campanharo got 18 minutes for the visitors, while Nenê started and was replaced in the second half.

At the Città del Tricolore, Rafael Cabral kept a clean sheet to help Napoli to a 1-0 win over Sassuolo. Jorginho also featured as a substitute.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Neto [Fiorentina], Alex [Milan], Zé Eduardo [Cesena], Bruno Peres [Torino] and Edenílson [Genoa] all featured, while Juan Jesus, Hernanes and Dodô were part of an Inter side that lost 4-1 at home to Cagliari.

France

In Ligue 1, Porto loanee Carlos Eduardo struck to give OGC Nice a shock 1-0 win at Monaco. The home side fielded Fabinho from the start, with Wallace coming on at half-time.

Paris Saint-Germain started just one of their Brazilian contingent – David Luiz – in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Toulouse, though Lucas Moura and Thiago Motta did come off the bench.

Elsewhere, Hilton played 90 minutes for Montpellier, while Dória was an unused substitute as Marseille beat Saint-Étienne 2-1.

Rest of Europe

In the Eredivisie, defender Wallace scored to help Vitesse to a 6-2 win over FC Dordrecht, while in Russia, Wanderson and Ari netted to give FC Krasnodar a 3-0 victory against Arsenal Tula.

In Turkey, Fernandão [on loan from Atlético Paranaense] scored to secure Bursaspor a 1-0 win at Rizespor and Felipe Melo played 90 minutes in defence as Galatasaray defeated Sivasspor – coached by Roberto Carlos – 2-1. Cicinho featured for the visitors.
