Brasileirão team of the week: Round 25

GK: Magrão [Sport Recife] – The 37 year-old stopper saved six shots to keep a clean sheet and earn an unexpected point for Sport against Cruzeiro. 

RB: Leandro Silva [Figueirense] – The Sorocaba native gave a strong defensive performance and also provided a cross for Marcão to head in Figueirense’s third in a 3-1 win over Palmeiras.

CB: David Braz [Santos] – The 6 foot 112 inch defender headed in the opener against Goiás and gave a disciplined showing alongside 19 year-old Neto.

CB: Rhodolfo [Grêmio] – The former São Paulo defender made four tackles and two interceptions to help Grêmio to an eighth consecutive clean sheet.

LB: Zé Roberto [Grêmio] – The 40 year-old assisted Hernán Barcos’s opener and gave another consistent performance as part of the Brasileirão’s best defence.

RM: Eduardo Sasha [Internacional] – The 22 year-old netted a brace in Internacional’s 4-2 win over Coritiba.

CM: Fellipe Bastos [Grêmio] – Provided an assist for Barcos and was Grêmio’s best passer and most efficient tackler.

CM: Josué [Atlético Mineiro] – Assisted Diego Tardelli for Atlético’s opener and was amongst their best passers with 41 at an accuracy of 88%. He also made more interceptions [alongside Leonardo Silva] than any other player.

LM: Darío Conca [Fluminense] – Scored one and created another for Fred. Also Fluminense’s best passer and most fouled player.

FW: Clayton [Figueirense] – The teenager was only on the pitch 37 minutes, but his brace helped Figueirense to a crucial 3-1 win over Palmeiras. 

FW: Hernán Barcos [Grêmio] – The veteran ended a run of three games without scoring with a brace against struggling Botafogo.
