Internazionale head coach Walter Mazzarri is hoping Hernanes can start to regain more confidence after the Brazilian scored against Atalanta on Wednesday night.
The former Lazio midfielder has come in for criticism recently over his poor start to the season, following a mixed World Cup campaign with Brazil
However, after the 29-year-old struck an excellent free kick late on at the San Siro yesterday, his head coach is hoping that can help him rediscover his confidence.
Football Italia quoted Mazzarri, he said: “I was happy for him, as he is an exemplary professional.
“When you score a goal it helps restore confidence, of course.”
After starting the last two matches on the substitutes bench, Hernanes will hope his goal and cameo appearance can earn him a start this weekend.
Inter host Cagliari on Sunday, hoping to continue their encouraging start to the new campaign.
