Hernanes helped silence his critics on Wednesday evening by helping Internazionale to a two-goal victory over Atalanta.

The 29-year-old struck the decisive second goal of the game at the San Siro to earn the Nerazzurri a 2-0 win.

It was the Brazilians third goal in Inter colours but a vital one after he came in for criticism at the start of the week following a poor start to the 2014/15 campaign.

The former Lazio ace has been on the substitutes bench twice this season, including against Atalanta, but will now hope his goal can help him regain a starting position in Walter Mazzarri’s team.

Although Hernanes hasn’t enjoyed a good start to the season, fellow Brazilian, Dodo, played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday.

The defender continues to enjoy life at the San Siro and Inter are now third in the Serie A table.
