Manchester United defender Rafael has revealed that the players went out for dinner recently to allow the team to talk properly, presumably about the recent poor form of the Old Trafford club.

The Brazilian has been speaking to the Official Manchester United website this week about life at the club, after spending six years in Manchester.

The full-back revealed that captain Wayne Rooney decided the players should go out for dinner to speak about various topics.

And the Brazilian felt it was a good idea, he said: “Yes, we had dinner together in Manchester last week.

“It is always nice when everyone is together. It allows us to talk properly as a team.

“Yes, I think it was Wayne’s idea. He spoke to everyone about it.

“Now, he’s the captain here, he’s doing everything like that.”
