Oscar scored his first goal of the season as Chelsea progressed past Championship side Bolton Wanderers in the Capital One Cup this evening.

The Brazilian struck in the 55th minute to help the Blues to a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge that sees them through to the last-16 of the competition.

The 23-year-old has started three matches in the Premier League this season but was an substitute in their recent Champions League fixture against Schalke and failed to come off the bench in Chelsea’s last league fixtures.

Jose Mourinho put him back in the starting team tonight, though, and the Brazilian rewarded him with a goal.

Frenchman Kurt Zouma had given the hosts a lead before Matt Mills canceled out that strike to make it level at half time.

Oscar went close with a header before he was able to grab the winner ten minutes into the second period.

Oscar brilliantly drilled in the loose ball from way outside the area to earn Chelsea a win and give Mourinho a timely reminder of his qualities.
