For the first time in 18 months, Manchester City are on a run of three games without a win but midfielder Fernandinho is sure they will win their next match.

Unfortunately for City, they face the pacesetters of the Premier League season – Chelsea, who have won four matches in a row.

The Brazilian international is expected a tough game but believes the Etihad outfit have the quality to defeat Chelsea and close the gap between themselves and the Stamford Bridge club.

Fernandinho spoke to Sky Sports, he said: “That is not easy (to take) for a big team such as City, but the best way to recover our confidence and our best qualities is to win the next game.

“Already we think about the Chelsea game. We have to win this game because we have had a draw against Arsenal and a loss at home to Stoke.

“We have to recover points to think about the top of the table.”
