Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has backed new signing Sandro to get back to full fitness soon and is sure he will be a great player for the club.
The Brazilian switched Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur for QPR on the final day of the summer transfer window in a £10 million deal.
The 25-year-old made his debut last weekend against Manchester United but couldn’t prevent the club failing to a 4-0 defeat, and he also exited in the 74th minute appearing to struggle with cramp.
Redknapp told Sky Sports, however, that the Brazilian will get back to 100 per cent soon.
He added: “I don’t know long he’ll need to be up to full speed.
“But he hadn’t played at all and there’s nothing like matches, until you get on the pitch you can’t bring it all together.
“It’s taking on the nerves, the adrenaline, all the training in the world doesn’t compensate for playing in 90-minute games, and that’s what several of them lacked.
“Sandro will be fitter on Saturday than he was last week and he’s going to be a great player for us.”
