Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho is hoping the club bounce back against Chelsea this weekend and put their European pain behind them.

The Eithad club suffered a last-gasp defeat to German giants Bayern Munich on Wednesday, despite their performance warranting a point.

But the Brazilian is now hoping they can use the defeat as a positive and bounce back strongly in their domestic league.

City started the season with two victories but have since suffered a shock home loss to Stoke City and a draw with title rivals Arsenal last weekend.

Sky Sports quoted Fernandinho, he said: “When you lose a game like this (versus Bayern) at the end, after the game you feel a little bit sad.

“But you have to recover as soon as you can. We have a great game against a big team like Chelsea and the best way to recover is to win that game.”

Fernandinho played the full 90 minutes midweek but will still be hoping to start against Chelsea this weekend.
