Brazilian defender Dante has revealed Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola rarely speaks his native Spanish now and mainly communicates with the team in German.

Prior to Guariola taking over the German giants, it was speculated that the former Barcelona head coach would struggle with the language barrier.

But Dante has revealed that Pep mainly speaks in German and that new Spanish signing Xabi Alonso and Pepe Reina will have to adapt quickly.

The 32-year-old did admit he sometimes has to translate to the aforementioned duo, when he spoke to TZ recently.

Goal.com quoted the centre-back, he said: “We always try to speak German and Pep only speaks German.

“He tries to explain everything in German and I speak very little Spanish with him.

“I try to help Xabi and Pepe Reina and sometimes translate speeches for them.

“Those two are talking to each other in Spanish and that is normal, but the culture at Bayern is German.”
