Brazilian great Ronaldinho has moved to Mexican club Queretaro. The move has lit up a debate in the Brazilian and international media, whilst a racist remark by a Mexican politician has sparke controversy.
Ronaldinho played for Flamengo and Atletico Mineiro in recent seasons, but needed a new challenge according to his brother and manager Assis. For him, the move to defend the colors of a little known Mexican club was not a surprise.
“The proposal, drafted up by a great club with changes wowed us,” said Roberto Assis to Globoesporte.com.
‘I think the way the president told us about his desire to rely on Ronaldinho made the difference.”
“The club has a vision of modern football, the aim to mount a competitive team. This greatly motivated Ronaldinho, who wanted a new challenge. ” explained Assis.
