Chelsea forward Diego Costa has warned supporters his incredibly scoring record will hit a bad patch soon, but admitted he hopes that doesn’t happen for a while.

The Brazilian-born Spanish international moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer but has already fired seven goals in four matches for his new club.

Costa bagged a hat-trick at the weekend to keep the Blues top of the Premier League table and leave fans excited about how good he can become.

However, the forward was cautious about his current form when speaking to the Daily Mirror but did praise the rest of his team mates for helping him.

Costa said: “It is different for every striker who comes here.

“Every striker has their way of playing and their strengths and a different team behind them. That is very important.

“If you do not have the team behind you then you can’t do things on your own. It all depends on the team. It could be because of that.

“I try to play in the best manner, and hopefully things will continue like this. But there will be a moment when I cannot score – that is football.’’
