Fluminense forward Fred has insisted that he’s moved on from his disappointing World Cup.

The 30 year-old, who has now retired from international football, admits he felt the weight of responsibility at the tournament, but is now ready to push on.

“It"s now in the past," he said, as reported by Xinhua. “The responsibility [on me] during the World Cup was huge and unfortunately things didn"t turn out."

Fred netted twice for Fluminense in their 3-0 win at home to Palmeiras on Saturday. The Teófilo Otoni native has now scored five goals in his last four outings.
