Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes believes Brazilian midfielder Sandro will be a great addition to the west London club.

The 25-year-old moved from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to QPR on transfer deadline day just under two weeks ago but due to the international break has yet to feature for the club.

Fernandes revealed, when speaking to the Evening Standard, that Harry Redknapp was initially unsure he would be able to sign the midfielder.

Redknapp was sure dealing with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would prove too problematic.

However, fortunately for all involved a deal was agreed and Fernandes is delighted with his new signing.

He said: “Harry mentioned Sandro. He was a great buy.

“Dealing with Daniel is not easy. Harry psyched himself to think that we would not get (Sandro). But we did.”
